TODAY IS JANUARY 1, 2012. It's a new year!! YEAH!
It's the start of something new and exciting for me but I'm not sure why just yet. Last year, 2011, was a challenging year in that I still had my Marathon Journey goal, but I lost my exercise/running mojo. I still did some great things, but could have done better had I not lost the mojo. I did three 5k's, one 10k and one Half. Do you know how awesome that is? My times weren't great at all on any of the races, but I signed up for them and completed them. I was supposed to be doing the Walt Disney World Marathon this coming weekend, but decided after the Baltimore Half Marathon, I TOTALLY was not ready for a full marathon. So although I didn't train well, I still followed through on what I started out doing. Actually I sort of lost my creative mojo too, but was able to get it back during the Christmas Season.
I've decided that my focus for 2012 is ME. I am un-apologically making me the priority and focus for the entire year and not feeling bad about it. In order to do that, below are my plans/goals for the year that will help me get to my Walt Disney World Marathon in 2013:
1. I want to run at least one 5k race each month, one 10k race every other month and a half in April and October.
2. I have been wasting money on my gym membership because I haven't had time to go, so I'm canceling my membership and taking advantage of the equipment I already have at home.
3. I LOVE Boot Camp, but usually have a hard time getting up in the am to go since I stay up so late doing homework and creating different things. This year, I am going to Boot Camp at BN Fit in District Heights every Tuesday and Thursday. It's two days out of the week verses every day.
4. I will be engaging in physical activities other than running and biking to help with my weight loss goals, i.e., Tap Dance Lessons (I already signed up for them and I'm so excited about it), Swimming Lessons and I'm still deciding on other things that I can do.
5. By the end of this year, I want to loose over 85 pounds
6. By October 1, 2012, I'll be able to do 100 push-up's (traditional way), 100 sit-ups and 20 minutes of jump roping (non-stop).
I know, some of that is pretty ambitious, but I'm sure that I can do it. I'm exxxtra excited about this year, are you?
